Making profits is not shameful my dear. Oil is subsidised by government %26amp; the subsidy is hitting the deficit in a very big way. If the prices are not increased inspite of oil being imported for more than 140$ per barrel, this Country will go to dogs.


The prices may not have been required to be increased had our Learned politicians not waived off more than 10000 Crs. of loans without thinking of common man but kept the vote bank in their minds. Mind you this is around 30% of our budget deficit.


These are my personal thoughts.
Isn't it great? Captalism at its finest! Good for them! Oil companies are not the problem. Why don't we take away profits from the mom and pop business down the street whose business is booming so much they are opening a bigger store? Or how about all them darned Walmart stores? It's business. Businesses should thrive. Thats freedom.
You mean a business? trying to make money? Holy cow. I say we let the government jump in and take profits away from the company you work for because everyone thinks you make too much money. They do the work, drill the oil, give everyone the product they desperately need. They should reap the benefits. You don't like the cost, drill your own.
Oil is getting harder to obtain, as the easy sources dry up. They have to make these huge profits, to fund the huge investment needed to extract oil in the future.
tell that to Gordon Brown, he has the ear of the Chancellor, and they could cut the massive tax on fuel if they wanted to. Don't blame it entirely on the oil companies.

Oil company's are really greedy, they know they will get away with ripping us of because we just let them hold us to randsome.
Just think of all the tax that they are paying into the UK Governments pockets.





How about the amount of money that this Government makes from fuel duty! Now that is sickening.
