No; and the complaints about their profits are indicitive of the far lefts pure hatred of true capitalism. They, far left, don't want a company to succeed in such a way. They look at it as something they should be getting so they can spend it on social programs to keep the masses happy. Exxon's stated margin is at 9% after taxes and research at this point and to me that seems more then fair considering what they face on a daily basis - attacks from the left.If oil companies' profit margin stays around 10%, are they evil and price gouging?
Maybe if we didn't have such a large number of SUVs out on the road wasting fuel and creating higher demand, we wouldn't have this problem. I mean does a family of 4 really need to be riding around in an Excursion or Suburban? Yes they are and all because of president Bush. Bush's friends in texas are the ones making millions off our gas money. If we had got rid of Bush our prices (of gas and oil) would be around 2 dollars now.
if u think oil companies are only at a 10% profit margin you know nothing about business. the value of gasoline for instance is 3 times the value of the oil it's made from.
