This country needs to start phasing out petroleum based energy altogether. We have plenty of alternatives. Why don't we start implementing change in our energy infrastructure? Now that's an energy solution.
If true and if that is an additional 8% then we would all expect to see gas prices rise if this was implemented. He is thinking that profitable companies must be punished for their success..
Punishing corporations for making money and being successful is a socialist and communist way of thinking... Why don't more people see through Obama.. he is so transparent.....

i don't care about oil companies profits. they don't do anything for me. but they could.
Raising taxes on oil companies by 8% will equal an 8% rise in the cost of their products. Nothing more, nothing less.
And guess who pays the tax: You and me, when the prices go up to make up for the tax.
