Oil companies to invest?

What do you recommend as good long term oil companies to invest in? Both US and foreign companies.Oil companies to invest?
Exxon-Mobile (XOM) is excellent, as is Schlumberger (SLB). I also really like Valero Energy in the long run, they're the biggest refining company in the U.S. and there is no new competition planned.

If you want an easy way to own a diversified energy portfolio look into a few Exchange Traded Funds like IYE or XLE.Oil companies to invest?
pioneer drilling (PDC)

hess corp (HES)
Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell.
BQI, this one will shock you to the upside. But very risky..
Think Exxon was one of the top five money makers but you know what they say once you reach the top theres but one place to go, BP suffered major losses and wil probably upgrade and fix these problems for further future gains.
If you want a stock in the oil sector with a little more risk then what everyone is suggesting, XOM, try GSF (GlobalSantaFe Corp). GSF is in the process of merging with RIG (Transocean Inc) and in my opinion both of these companies are incredibly undervalued. They are both deep sea drillers so they are susceptible to hurricanes in the Gulf, but with this relatively benign season I think they both look great now.

GSF is trading at a P/E of 13.88 with a Forward P/E of 7.32

RIG is trading at a P/E of 17.18 with a Forward P/E of 8.96
I've owned Exxon for over 20 years, and at the moment, even with the tense market conditions, it is near an all-time high. Buy and don't look back.
