Bush signed energy bill today only if big oil companies got tax breaks.?

Is this political bribery?. Billions in tax breaks for the big oil companies so he would not veto an energy bill.Bush signed energy bill today only if big oil companies got tax breaks.?
';Unfortunately, the Senate last week stripped the bill of provisions that would have allowed Americans to get 15 percent of our electricity from renewable energy sources, and required dirty, polluting energy companies to pay their fair share of taxes.

In addition, just hours before approving the energy bill, the House passed the 2008 omnibus spending bill that would direct $30 billion in taxpayer money into subsidies for dangerous, costly, and polluting industries, specifically nuclear power and coal.

“Even though Congress is making serious strides towards moving clean energy legislation, it’s clear from the omnibus bait-and-switch that we have not completely broken the hold that dirty, polluting industries have in Congress,” Wayland said. “The reductions in global warming pollution from the energy bill could very well be wiped out by the new sources of pollution funded by the appropriations bill, such as liquid coal, which creates twice as much carbon dioxide pollution as gasoline.”Bush signed energy bill today only if big oil companies got tax breaks.?
Yep, even as a Republican I would have to say that someones hand is in the honey jar.
And Everyone on TV looked pleased as all get out! What a wonderful thing they had done for us! They can't get help for the uninsured, they can't get anything done for the little guy but, the wealthy, they sure have no problem getting bills passed for them! The energy bill is a no big deal, 13 years before the car companies have to up the mileage a car gets, 20 years before the electrical companies have to reign in pollution of our air! Many times I have stated that those who are supposed to be representing us are only representing themselves, they are mostly wealthy people elected by us to work for us, really? When are we going to wake up to the fact that the election process has to be funded by the government so that those not in the pocket of corporations are able to run for office. Since the beginning of this nation we have been run by the wealthy, things have not changed %26amp; never will unless we even the playing field %26amp; that can only be accomplished by making it so that the middle %26amp; lower income people are able to run for office. They are the only ones that truly know our needs %26amp; just might pass a few laws that would help us all share in the wealthy of this country, not just the chosen few!
Sure is embarrassing to all of the American public - whoever counted the votes made him the president, twice!
Well, isn't that special? Duped again. There is no end to this greedy bunch and their self-interest tax breaks. I don't care if it was written into law years ago....oil companies DO NOT NEED a tax break. They raise their prices and get the gift of a loophole! How good can it get for these crooks?
some more money in his pocket....
Question for Canam

Who is the author of this bill and who voted for it?
As usual a liberal has no clues to the facts. #1 The taxbreaks were written into law decades ago. Congress merely renewed them. #2 It was the other part of the original bill Pres Bush objected to.The part that declared that any energy company producing more than a set amount of carbon dioxide would have to pay huge taxes.(In other words the taxpayers would get screwed again) Using my stste as an example. I live in Ohio. Democrats have refused to allow our local power companies to build nuclear plants like other states do so we had to keep our old coal plants open. Under the original bill our rates would increase by somewhere between 400 and 500 %. Pres Bush didn't think that was fair unless states like mine got time and permission to update. But I'm sure a liberal such as yourself sees nothing wrong with that................until they ask you to pay.
