Bush was going to let the drilling ban expire, so instead of allowing drilling anywhere without restrictions, the dems passed legislation to let the states decide, but put a limit of not within 50 miles of the coast. Oil companies don't seem to want to drill anyway. Why should they invest money that would cut into their record profits?
Yes, and I also think that Americans will be upset when they find out what will happen to OUR oil when Exxon and Chevron get it.





THEY will take it, THEY will profit off of it, but WE will continue to pay 3 and 4 dollars for a gallon of gasoline.
Drilling doesn't ruin the environment, burning oil does according to the envrro-carzies; and we're gioing to do that anyway. Drilling in someone else's back yard is also ';ruining'; the enromenoment, but seems to be OK.
No, they are more likely to be upset if gas costs $5.00 per gallon.


Drilling properly should be possible without damage to the environment.
