Now that Venezuela has stripped oil companies of operational control, will the United States follow suit?

It would solve many of our most pressing problems, wouldn't it?Now that Venezuela has stripped oil companies of operational control, will the United States follow suit?
Funny how people who are excluded from all decision making and power in the U.S. always STILL run to the defense of the ultra-wealthy. That's their papa. Now that Venezuela has stripped oil companies of operational control, will the United States follow suit?
Hillary has already said she wanted to do that, if elected...
If we move towards a more socialistic government - which is the goal of Democrats, it's very possible. I have mixed feelings about that. On one hand I feel that they gov. should take over energies to keep it affordable. On the other hand, it reeks of communism and I know that politicians can NEVER be trusted to do what's best for all citizens. You can have it one of two ways: Keep the current status quo with Big Business running America or have the Government run America - neither of which has yours and my best interests at heart.
Yes, comrade. Private ownership never works, we need to turn the US into the socialist paradise that was the USSR!

*cough* *cough*
Hugo Chavez is getting to the point of believing he is a demi-god. He views himself as larger than Simon Bolivar. Don't be fooled, the purpose of this move is self serving and in no way will it end up benefiting anyone but his agenda. The US is not taking this guy seriously. Had we payed attention to this thug 5 years ago, he would already be preaching the gospel next to Manuel Noriega in a Miami prison.
no, the opposite is true here.

the oil companies have secured operational control of our government.
Not as long as oil runs this country and the politicians are in bed with the oil companies
IF THE GREAT WHITE SOCIALIST THE HILL-DA-BEAST HAS HER WAY.
Not hardly. Big oil has America by the balls.
You are a retarded communist pig
In the US , its the other way around.

';Big oil'; interests control the government.

If the oil industry was ';nationalized'; , It would'nt make any difference.

Control of oil would still be in the same hands.

In a perfect world where Govt. is the agent of the ';people';,

It might make a difference, but it would be a form of socialism.
It replaces one corruption for another. If things get bad enough in the US anything is possible. We are not above such actions. The less hope people have the more promises they'll believe.
Yeah right. That鈥檒l happen. The oil lobby has more influence in this country鈥檚 government than all of the 300 million American people.
