Is it time to nationalize the refineries and squeeze the oil companies who are squeezing us?

Yeah, that would work real well. Did the democrats forget we live in America not Nazi Germany? Is it time to nationalize the refineries and squeeze the oil companies who are squeezing us?
Move to Venezuela Karl Marx
How about we start squeezing the democrats? They're the ones who have put an end to domestic oil exploration %26amp; increasing refinery capacity or building new ones. They've turned over the decision making to the environmentalists.

When you say ';nationalize the refineries';, do you mean that you think the government should take over running that business? You would think if putting the government in charge of running businesses worked, the Soviet Union would still be alive %26amp; kicking.
Anything basic to life should be nationalised, water, electricity, gasoline, natural gas police service, military. When we were in texas my electricity was 16 cents a kiliwat hour, privatised, in indiana its 3 cents better deal huh. Anything you need the price can be whatever becasue you need it. Anything else should be free market but when it is esential to life it should be highly regulated.
that wouldn't work the oil companies are pupating the politicians.
we are way over due for squeezing oil companies , we have to be smarter this time not to put greedy idiots who are in oil business in office, not vote for those who having parties with Saudi partners and walking and laughing holding hands while US troops are dieing for their business,
your looking for the Venezuela room
Before you ask an insane question fed by ignorance and the lack of economic intelligence, please take a month a educate yourself.

The policies of the democrats have resulted in the lowest energy production this country has seen since the 1940's.

Yes, they are making money, but it's supply and demand that rules the day.

Please educate yourself before you vote.

If you fail to read these articles... You fail yourself.
Look how wonderful the nationalized instituitions work -Education, Medicare, Medicaid, etc. etc. I say, why stop at oil? Let us nationalize, our laundry, our grocery, our television, our entertainment and even our families.
No. It's time to abandon oil and move on to more efficient, less polluting, more plentiful and renewable energy. One does not solve supply and cost problems by stealing businesses, you solve them by spending your money elsewhere (and maybe, just maybe doing some good for the environment)
As much as I hate em right now. what comes next? Manufacturing? Services?

It is a sure slide to Communism
You honestly think that putting a bunch of government bureaucrats in charge of a business will make it more efficient? That's what the Soviets tried and it's why they eventually collapsed, and it's why China, reading the writing on the wall, begin adopting Capitalist principles, even if they don't call them that. The last time an attempt was made to Nationalize anything was Hillary's Health Care fiasco of the '90s, and we all saw what a fiasco that turned out to be.
Like socialism? I like to be squeezed myself. I prefer Capitalism to squeeze me though.
yes it is,and no,its not the end of capitalism. sheesh, what a dopey thing to say.
And the oil companies will be lining up to put oil into those refineries, rather than get market prices in India and China
yes
It's time for us to stop whining and make the changes in our lifestyles that are necessary to adapt to a new reality. We knew this was coming and the oil prices will continue to rise because of increased worldwide demand and the decline of the American dollar.
In the 70s Nixon froze wadges %26amp; let the prices go up, A great President should have the guts, to rollback the prices of gas to $3.00 and freeze prices on all products, until the wages catch up to the prices.
Then the CIA will have to stage a coup in the US, lol! I think that state's rights should mean that the individual states can run their natural resources! And if anyone happens to live on top of some oil, they should either be allow to utilize it themselves or get justly compensated for it (if it's needed). Insane gas prices are a result of complete deregulation and corrupt officials looking the other way--just like with deregulating energy. But I and they need to be broken up or bought out--they're abusing their power and will only get worse!

Slobendz: It's not the Democrats, the oil companies themselves want to reduce their refining capacity to drive up prices.
The conservatives would rather have our economy collapse and people starve to death than nationalize anything.
Yes , It is in national interest. Oil companies don't want to drill where it is not profitable for them, They are not looking for new technologies. It would be great step towards energy independence if oil industry is nationalized.
End of Capitalism.
