McCain said about a month ago that drilling for oil will do nothing. Now the gush of money coming his way is from only Oil companies. So McCain was playing up to the OIL companies.

John McCain said to drill for oil because John Mccain realizes that the only way to decrease oil prices and gasoline prices is to drill for oil in the United States and increase the supply of oil.





In the long term we must build many more nuclear power plants.





Nuclear power plants are the only reliable source of electricity that is affordable and does not produce greenhouse gases.





Solar power has a cost of production that is more than ten times the cost of electricity from a nuclear power plant.





We must also remove the Congresional restricition on reprocessing spent fuel rods.





When we reprocess spent fuel rods we not only produce more new nuclear fuel than was consumed by the nuclear reactor, we also reduce over 95% of the nuclear waste.





Reprocessing spent nuclear fuel rods not only insures us an inexhaustible supply of nuclear fuel, it also reduces the nuclear waste to insignificant proportions.
My guess is McCain was at the right place at the right time.

If you are against drilling you are no better then a terrorist. A terrist ccould not have selected a better way to cause economic castastropy in the US then by banning oil drilling. When asked by MSNBC at his secret hideout in Pakinstan Obama Bin Laden said he wanted to thank all of his supporters who got drilling bans put in place in the USA.
To hell with the oil companies - drill to increase production and lower the cost !!! Anyone who truly thinks that increasing our domestic production won't decrease the price - of both our own oil and the oil from other countries - in delusional.

We need the oil, since we will not conquer other countries to get it, we need to drill our own. Face it, if there is no profit, the oil companies will not invest.And under our system, they deserve a profit from investments.
