No. What the public doesn't realize is that there are enough oil reserves in the US to fuel this country for over 50 years. Between California, Alaska and Quebec, we can burn all the gas we want for at least a century. The problem lies in the companies that control the production of oil. Why try to lobby to release said oil reserves when they can take it from foreign countries? Plus the companies can basically rape the consumers without touching these reserves for years without even having to lobby. This isn't a conspiracy theory, just good business. Charge the consumer the most they can for as long as they can and when foreign interest begins to call their bluff sell the public on taking from our own stores to either save at the pump or blame foreign oil on terrorism. They can then say that they will disontinue dealing with ';terrorist'; nations for oil and begin using our own stores as a reason to charge more for domestic oil.

In the end, the middle east has a limited amount of oil that will be used up within our lifetime but our government/oil companies will get what they can out of our lifestyle while they can and then use that lifestyle against us to then use our own resources to make even more money to rape our own land of said resources.
